Receptionist

The Conexus Arts Centre has an opening for a full time Receptionist. Responsibilities of this position include administrative support and reception duties. Qualified candidates will have strong administrative skills, be able to multi-task, will be very detail oriented and will enjoy working with the public.

BUILDING ENGINEER
Conexus Arts Centre is currently accepting applications for a Part-time/Casual Building Engineer. Hours will be primarily evenings and/or weekends. This position is responsible for maintaining the building systems including HVAC, boilers, plumbing and other related duties.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Fireman’s Certificate and Refrigeration Certificate and will enjoy working in a public facility where customer service is a priority. If you are looking for an opportunity to earn some extra cash and have the minimum qualifications noted this may be the perfect opportunity for you. Starting salary is $16.59/hour.

PREP COOK

Required to assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees. Skills required include proficiently being able to utilize a wide range of kitchen tools and utensils, include chopping knives and vegetable grinders.
In addition to his or her food preparation duties, a prep cook may also be responsible for completing a large number of smaller tasks. Other tasks could include ensuring that leftover food is stored properly, performing kitchen maintenance tasks such as emptying the trash and washing dishes, and testing the temperature of food at specified intervals.

DISHWASHER

A dishwasher must be able to load and unload a dish washing machine. Certain pots, pans, utensils and silverware must be loaded correctly, which helps the machine operate efficiently and effectively. The temperature has to be at the correct setting and the correct amount of dishwashing liquid should be used. Periodically, a dish washing machine will break down and the dishwasher may be requierd to fix a jammed part.. Machines also have to be assembled and reassembled before and after use.
Trash Clean Up
Dishwashers are also required to take out the trash and make sure it is secure inside of dumpsters. Garbage cans should also be supplied with new garbage bags. Some are required to sweep floors, mop and make sure the dish washing area is neat, organized and clean, They should make sure no food scraps are left on the cabinets, sinks tables or dish washing equipments. All food areas should be wiped down and sanitized.
Food Assistance
Dishwashers have to make sure they observe all of the food safety requirements established by an organization. At times, dishwashers are called on to assist the cook with certain procedures and techniques regarding food preparation and service. Some dishwashers have to provide service and attention to the back storeage areas, as well as the coolers and freezers.
Store Utensils
Once the dishes, pots and pans have been cleaned, the dishwahers must make sure they have been properly stored and organized so that other kitchen workers will ahve immediate access to them.
Working Conditions
Dishwashers must be able to tolerate the heat when the dishwashing machines are running. They also have to be able to stand harsh chemicals and cleaners, such as oven cleaner and general cleaning solutions that help sanitize a kitchen area
Lifting
A dishwasher should be in good physical condition that allows them to bend kneel or stoop, so they can pick up itens such as loads of dishes and other kitchen tools, machinery and food preparation equipment. Some places require that a dishwasher have the ability to 50 to 100 pounds during the course of the day.
